Hello. My name is Tom Green and I am a freelance web designer currently residing in a small town in southern Spain, though I was born and mostly raised in England. I specialise in building search engine friendly web design, design that not only looks appealing, but also is ready for the Search Engine Optimisation to commence.
At the age of thirteen, I became interested in web design and web management. I have ran several forums in the past which is where I gained a lot of my experience, creating graphics and forum templates for the sites, all of which ended up closed as I moved on to another project, it was a good system of work experience and killing boredom at the same time. Eventually I became tired of growing bored with my projects and decided to take the time to study further into web design and development. The following years I learned about valid (x)HTML and CSS coding, standard Web 2.0 interfaces, and Search Engine Optimisation.
I noticed on my journey through this profession, that many web developers argue on which is more important, a slick looking design, or a search engine optimised website. I consider the whole thing a two-step process, with both aspects being equally important, the first step is bringing in the traffic through standard Search Engine Optimisation techniques, the second step is turning the visitors into potential clients and returning visitors by providing a rich and easy to navigate website.
When you work with me, my focus is on you; and what you want for your business, you can rely on me to design a website that will categorise your business rather than using the same old style for every other website.
You will be able to talk with me directly via Instant Messenger if you would like to oversee any updates, or if you would like to leave input on what you would like to see next in the design.
On my spare time, I like to play retro video games from the classic Sega Megadrive and Nintendo 64, watch my weekly TV shows, and write articles for the WebHaven Blog.
Most of my spare time is spent in doors, as there is little to do in this small town, though occasionally I will go for a long walk down the outskirts of the town to admire the fresh air and the mountain views.
